The Volunteers of America Colorado Float Team is a team of experienced professionals that assist in the facilities that we serve, such as the Senior Community Care Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), Horizons Health Care Center, Valley Manor Care Center, the Homestead at Montrose,  Home Health of Western Colorado, and Senior Community Meals.

The CO Float Team is looking for a Universal Worker to join our team!  The Universal Worker could be working as a Laundry Assistant, Housekeeper, Dietary Assistant, or Activities Assistant, at any of our facilities!

As an PRN Universal Worker, you will enjoy ultimate flexibility and work as little as 4 shifts per month or full time hours, depending on shifts available. One (1) year of experience in one of the positions listed below is required, and you must be willing to work at any VOA facility that has a need.

The Laundry Assistant will ensure that all resident laundry is maintained in a timely fashion.  Responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, stacking and distributing linens and personal laundry in compliance with facility laundry policies and procedures.  Assist in keeping the laundry department neat, clean and orderly.  

The Dietary Assistant will provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents in our senior living facilities.

The Activity Assistant will coordinate social, recreational, purposeful and spiritual activities to residents, whose needs include psychological, physical, and cognitive challenges.

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all facility areas.

Job Requirements


  1. Previous healthcare service experience is preferred.
  2. Ability to understand and follow procedure, work assignments, instructions, warnings and labels.  Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
  3. Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of the various duties
  4. Ability to work in a variety of climates such as hotter and cooler temperatures.
  5. Motor coordination and manual dexterity 
  6. Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from white.
  7. Ability to work as a team member.
  8. Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors and other facility personnel.
  9. Ability to utilize a computer for timekeeping and other type of electronic record keeping.
  10. Must be willing to work in facilities following infection control precautions and regular testing for COVID-19.
