The Regional Nurse will ensure the integrity of Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) core clinical systems, clinical reimbursement processes, regulatory compliance, and to participate in the planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and educating the overall clinical operation of clinical services within the assigned areas of VOANS senior living communities.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, developing, implementing, support and evaluating of federal, state and local specific protocols to support and meet regulatory requirements and to maintain VOANS Core Clinical Systems as assigned by the Vice President of Clinical Services and in coordination with the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Assist in development and implementation of clinical competency programs including components of Knowledge – Skill – and Attitude training for all levels of staff that provide care and/or services.
  • Lead survey preparedness processes, supports during surveys and ensures a plan of correction is created and implemented in partnership with the assigned area.
  • Provide crisis management as requested and/or when compliance with core clinical systems, regulatory compliance and reimbursement issues arise.
  • Manages the clinical services opening of new communities and all existing communities providing input on physical plant when required, coordination and ordering of clinical supplies, equipment, pharmacy services, staffing coordination and competency training, clinical reimbursement systems, VOANS Core Clinical systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees infection prevention efforts.
  • Works with communities to improve Quality Measures and Five Star status if applicable.

 

Job Requirements

  1. Current license as a Registered Nurse.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Long Term Care Clinical Consultant.
  3. Current working knowledge of applicable local, state and federal standards and regulations.
  4. Ability to create a culture of accountability.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  6. Possesses extensive clinical knowledge and skills to lead the communities to excellent clinical outcomes
