The Personal Care Provider is responsible for providing and assisting participants with activities of daily living, and supportive care necessary to the preservation of the home environment. You will assist in providing a safe environment for the participants and residents.

As a PRN Caregiver, you will enjoy ultimate flexibility and work as little as 4 shifts per month or full time hours, it is YOUR choice. 

The Volunteers of America Colorado Float Team is a team of experienced professionals that assist in the facilities that we serve, such as the Senior Community Care Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), Horizons Health Care Center, Valley Manor Care Center, the Homestead at Montrose, and Home Health of Western Colorado.

One (1) year of experience is required - you must be willing to work at any facility that has a need.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist participants with ADL’s (bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting) as assigned or needed.
  • Assists participants with restorative and supportive care (including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, personal care, etc.) as assigned or needed.
  • Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s) (grocery shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation and other routine household care) as assigned. Orders supplies from Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) as needed.
  • Documents services provided to participants consistently and accurately via approved system/ Daily Activity Record.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.

Must be willing to work in a facility that is following infection control precautions and testing for COVID-19.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $13.59 -17.05/hour
  • Mileage between home health visits will be paid according to Volunteers of America’s mileage policy

  • Overtime is available and paid when working over 12 hours in a day and 40 hours in a week
